PARENTS
POLICY COUNCIL
Southern Oregon Head Start is based on the knowledge that parents play a key role in supporting children’s health, development and wellness, and the belief that they should give a voice to their child’s school environment and education. Policy Council is a place for parents to develop their own leadership and advocacy skills.

WORKING TOGETHER
The Policy Council is a representative group of parents from Southern Oregon Head Start centers and the community who work in partnership with the Board of Directors and key management staff to develop the direction of the Head Start and Early Head Start programs, approve policies, and fulfill other key responsibilities.
Policy Council meets once a month and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors. One time per year, the groups meet together to discuss Southern Oregon Head Start programs and strategic goals.
