Early Head Start is a child development program that serves low-income families in Southern Oregon with children ages birth to 3 years, as well as pregnant mothers and their families. We support parents as they help their young children grow and develop and provide resources and support to families.
Here are a number of service offers provided by Early Head Start.
Head Start has 55 preschool classes throughout communities in Jackson and Josephine County that meet from mid-September through mid-May. These are half day classes, mornings and afternoons, on Tuesdays through Fridays. Classes have 17-20 three and four year old children, depending on the facility. There is a two week winter break and one week spring break.
Head Start has one class in Medford that is a preschool with child care for parents who are working at least 35 hours a week or going to school full time, or some equivalent combination of work and school. The class is 7:30AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday, early September through mid-July. There is a one week winter break and a one week spring break.
